About Me

Adina Silva

I received a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of La Verne. I wholeheartedly believe that our brain and bodies are capable of healing – of course provided we give it the necessary tools. As such, I am trained in both Brainspotting (BSP) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

BSP is different from talk therapy where folks identify, process, and release core neurophysiological sources of emotional/body pain – that’s a big way of saying it processes physical symptoms of trauma. EMDR is a psychotherapy treatment designed to alleviate distress associated with traumatic memories. I’d be happy to share more details, and perhaps a couple of videos that will be helpful, to explore if this might be the treatment for you.

I have worked in the social services, forensic and mental health field since 2014. I have been trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (how our thoughts impact our feelings which impact our behaviors), psychoanalytic framework (this is where we go back to see where these experiences originated) and use evidence-based practices (these methods are backed by research).

I come from a lens of exploring what is WELL with you as well as exploring your strengths. I’d be honored to take this journey with you and happy to answer questions. I look forward to connecting!

On a personal note, I live in the Inland Empire with my spouse and 2 "adult" children. In my spare time, I enjoy travel, all things animal, and I'm a foodie!
